In the lead up to World Diabetes Day 2010 on 14 November Novo Nordisk and Ipsos Emirates Health conducted a survey in ten countries of the Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) region. The survey, which was carried out in October this year, assesses the level of awareness among the general population when it comes to causes, risks and complications of diabetes. It also looks into respondents’ risk of developing diabetes. With over 3,000 interviews, the respondents were representative of the demographic and socio-economic profile in each country.
